January 2026 – It’s Time

Posted on January 23, 2026 By Mel

I can’t believe we are already nearing the end of January.

The last few months have been a blur. Not for any particular reason, just…life! I am middle age, and I find myself relating more and more with all the old timers who say a lifetime passes in the blink of an eye. And right now, I am reminding myself that I need to be intentional with my time and my choices in life. Because it is truly flying by, and before I know it, I will be that old lady sitting in my chair, wondering how life happened so fast.

So, What Am I Going To Do About It?

I am convicted now more than ever, that I do not belong at a desk in an office 5 days a week, no matter how good the job is, and no matter how well it pays.

As a wife, I am not doing the things at home that I should be doing or want to be doing.

As a homeschooling mom, I am not here when my teenager needs help staying on track or has questions…and at night I am trying to decompress from the day and am not able to be mentally there to help. I am not available to help my older kids when they need it either.

As a Grandma, I pop in to see the grandkids at lunch or a few hours on the weekend. I want to be able to take them to the mountains, the beach, or just play with them at my house while their mom goes shopping or has appointments.

As a daughter to aging parents, I am not there to spend time with them or help them out when they need it.

As a sister, I am not available for coffee, or to talk about life’s joys and challenges, and to work through family situations that may come up.

Was It A Win?

Women fought so hard to be “equal” to men. Some things were necessary to fight for. But really, was it a win? What did we win?

Is being part of the workforce a win? I am not so sure. I do like to earn money and help the family income. It allows us to help others when they need it and it helps boost our finances for various things as well. But the daily grind of going out to work while everything and everyone around us suffers for it?

I see so many working moms look down on stay at home moms, and think their life must be so easy. But at the same time, these working moms are stressed to the max, feel pulled in a hundred different directions, and if they came in to some money, would quit working in a heartbeat.

They complain that their husbands don’t do “equal” of the housework. They whine and complain until their husbands become effeminate, and then lust after “manly” men.

What Is Our Role?

Our God given roles in life are a blessing. Women were made different than men for a good reason.

Men traditionally have a desire to provide for their family, and get great satisfaction and pride being able to look after their family in this way.

Women traditionally took pride in keeping the home, raising their children and providing a safe place for her husband to land at the end of the day.

Things have changed. Things need to change back.

It’s Time

It’s time to bring back devoted, Godly men, who desire to provide for their families and raise them in a Godly, loving home.

It’s time to bring back true feminism, women who love to keep the home and raise their children, women who love God and love their husbands.

It’s time.

Question:

Are you filling a traditional role in your family? Are you content in that role? Comment below and let’s get this conversation going!
